Bringing an authentic Izakaya experience from Japan to the heart of Hong Kong
On top of the traditional PR publicity approach in promoting a new restaurant opening, we made use of more social media strategies to introduce to Hong Kong food lovers this new spot in the city. To arouse mass awareness before the grand opening, we collaborated with ASMR YouTubers on creating interesting video content to highlight the freshness of food. Besides publishing on their respective YouTube channels, the video content were also put on Instagram stories polling games with dining vouchers as incentives to engage with audiences.
We teamed up with the Japanese illustrator committed by the client to re-create the menu drawings in timelapse format. In keeping up with the latest social media trend of Instagram reels, we created dynamic reels and gamification posts that highlight the stories behind our signature dishes.
Major media publications were all invited to a preview dinner tasting with Masahiro Uchiyama, the Founding Executive Chef, which generated buzz and brand recognition for the restaurant. We also organised an influencer group tasting with social media content competition to encourage them to create high quality and engaging content on Instagram to further promote the restaurant.
